SPED Annual Parent Involvement Survey from NHDOE
Kristina Fowler

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We hope this email finds you and your family well. As part of our commitment to providing the best possible support and resources for students receiving special education services, we invite you to participate in the annual Parent Involvement survey conducted by the New Hampshire Department of Education (NHED).

This brief survey is to gauge the level of parent involvement in our schools and how it contributes to improving services and outcomes for children with special education. All responses are anonymous, so you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and experiences openly.

To access the survey, simply visit this website.

Each child's experience is unique, so please complete a separate survey for each child receiving special education services in your family.

Your input directly influences the decisions made at district and state levels regarding special education services. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child's education.

If you have any questions or need assistance with the survey, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Starfish Story
Kristina Fowler

The Starfish Story tells a tale to remind us that every person can make a difference no matter how small. SAU 63 recognizes staff who do just that.

The Starfish Story
An old man, walked along the beach early one summer morning. He soon came across a young boy who was bending down to pick up starfish and throwing them back into the ocean one by one. The old man asked the boy, "Young man, what are you doing?" The boy answered, "I'm throwing the starfish back into the ocean because if I don't they'll die." Suddenly the old man realized the beach was covered with thousands of starfish left behind by the tide, stretching for miles in either direction. "Son, there are too many starfish. You'll never be able to save enough to make a difference." The young boy bent down, picked up another starfish an threw it into the ocean, saying, "I made a difference to that one."

September's Starfish Award goes to: Tom Ronning
October's Starfish Award goes to: Marissa Hofstetter, School Nurse

Congratulations Starfish!
