On Friday, November 9th, thirty sophomores and juniors joined Amanda Kovaliv at the College Access Convention at Keene State University. Scott Power, Director of NH Scholars Initiative of New Hampshire College & University Council and Kemal Atkins, Ed.D. Vice President for Student Affairs of Keene State College welcomed the students to the event.
Following, Karen Collins, College Planning expert from NNHEAF spoke to the students about college costs, financial aid, scholarships and tips on paying for college.
Then the students were able to listen to and ask questions of students currently attending various 2-year and 4-year colleges. These students shared their college experiences and answer questions about their journey to college. Lastly, Admissions officers from various 4-year and 2-year New Hampshire institutions provided insight on admission to college. Following a tour of Keene State, our students were treated to lunch in the Keene State Dining Hall.
