Ms. Kostenblatt and Mrs. Erickson are participating in a citizen science project with NH Fish and Game and UNH Cooperative Extension. They will be collecting milkweed seeds and pods throughout the rest of the month. Milkweed is a food source for many other species of pollinator, it is the exclusive host plant on which Monarch butterflies lay their eggs, and on which caterpillars feed. If you are interested in participating, grab a paper bag to collect your seeds from Ms Kostenblatt or Mrs. Erickson. View these slides to see how to collect milkweed.
