Letters of Recommendation
The following two forms are required to be filled out and returned to the school counseling office prior to the end of student’s Junior year. These forms assist Mrs. Kovaliv in writing Letters of Recommendation: Parent/Guardian Questionnaire and Student Activity Sheet.
Each Junior will receive a “Junior Packet” full of information, and receive an overview of the following:

Apply NH
WLC holds “Apply NH” day each November; this is the day that all seniors are invited to apply to all NH Colleges for FREE. Counselors along with a member of Granite Edvance will be on hand to assist students. Seniors and their parents will receive notifications via email and announcements will also be on the WLC Daily Bulletin. All students that apply will be entered into a drawing to receive $500 to apply towards their college.

College Fair Field Trips - College Fair field trips are offered throughout the year
College Visits to WLC - WLC holds college visits for juniors and seniors throughout the fall. Representatives make arrangements to visit the school counseling office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays during WIN (10:00AM)
If there is a particular college that a student would like to have visit WLC, please let the School Counseling Department know and they will arrange it.
Evening Programs for Juniors and Seniors
In conjunction with Granite Edvance, the following evening presentations are held each fall at WLC for students and their parents at attend.
Applying to College 101 – High School Juniors & Parents/Guardians: High school juniors and their families will learn about the college admission process. Granite Edvance will cover how to build your college list and questions to ask on a college tour. They will also discuss college essay pointers, the application timeline, and the basics of financial aid. Attendees will receive a digital copy of Granite Edvance’s Admissions Insider.
Financial Aid 101 – High School Seniors & Parents/Guardians: Students and their families will learn how to navigate the federal financial aid process (FAFSA). Granite Edvance will explore what types of additional aid are available and review scholarship searches. They will also highlight the importance of meeting deadlines. All attendees will receive a digital copy of Granite Edvance’s Financial Aid Insider.
